Potential application?

I've been playing with the idea of applying to smokin_makeup for a few days now, since I've gone back to when it first started and looked at most of everyone's posts and all of the applications because I HAVE NO LIFE haha.

So these are the looks I might be putting in my application, and so any tips/pointers/hints/CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM :D would be amazing x4896. Be as harsh as you like since that's the only way to really learn :) <- Sentence absolutely from Alina!

If there's a look thats not too hot, not really inspiring, just plain fugly TELL ME PLEASE. I'm just not going to include it haha. Thanks lovers.

4 & 5 is not loading for me. :\

I love them all! 10-12 are kind of blah to me; not because they're not good, but because they're kind of "everyday" looks that work, but aren't smokin'. #12 is cool, but not as cool as #3!! And #10 only because I'm not too fond of the leopard spots look. :\

Other than that, it seriously looks awesome. Hope you get in! :)

I don't know where 4 & 5 went, dammit!

I wanted to include #12 since it's like a different type of gore? idk I wanted to show that I know how to do other things too and not just like pile liquid latex on haha.

#11 I will redo but much better. Any specific CC on that one for when I redo it?

#10 I agree with you, it's kinda boring.

Let me see if I can find my replacements for 4&5... :)

#4 looks great! I remember the look. :)

I thought #3 was pretty cool, but you have a point. Blood is always good. You did a good job with special effects!

There's nothing wrong with #10, but I don't think it's anything "special". It's a nice look and definitely wearable, but nothing that stands out. Ya know what I mean? That community seems to like dramatic makeup a lot, hence why. If you decide to change it, maybe make it more gold/bronze? I think the liner would really pop then, since it's such a contrast.

Hmm then I might move the spots around and make it more like an eye mask, from temple to temple and on my eyelids too. Haha I like doing those too much.

I love that first look, but I havnt seen #3 before and that is SO badass! You know I dont know jack about makeup (well not enough to see anything wrong with what you do) but I just had to say that.

hahaha well I kind of messed up. It's not really ideal for going out since I pretty much balanced it in that little slit where the toilet paper opened at the top of my eye near my brows. I do know of an amazing tutorial for the proper way to do it, where it will stay up and rigid. But I'm currently on the wrong computer, I will definitely reply with the link once I get home!

I'm pretty sure I'm nixing #6 since a few ladies don't really dig that one either. What do you think I can do that will make it better, or do you just not like the look in general?

I think just the colours really clash with your skintone, as I see it. If I was going to change it, I'd make the dark parts a matte black rather than shimmery, and try to reduce the amount of space between the dark shadow in the corner of your eyes. As it is it's really pulling the bridge of your nose out and making it look bigger than it is! Also the lips, make them neutral.

I definitely didn't like the grey-shimmeriness of MAC Dark Soul! I thought it would be a matte black. But my other blacks turn BLUE when blended so I had to resort to that. I think it was the day after I did that I put Carbon e/s onto my wishlist.

I will try to avoid stretching my bridge of my nose out, thanks :)

As for the lips, a matte neutral or a glossy neutral?

I do have Photobucket haha but I never use it. I only upload FOTDs I like onto there, which reminds me I should go check it out again.

look number 1 is fucking sexxxy! i think you should do a tutorial because it's bad ass!!! i think you have better looks that you should include in your application because you have what it takes to get in. i think you should include more everyday looks instead of the special effects ones. i hope that helps!

I'm not going to include #6 definitely, but I kinda want to include #7 & #12 since they got me into fabulousmakeup (hahahaha) and #7 won me a myspace challenge :3 I agree #12 is boring face-wise and I wish I had better pictures of that look since the contour was way better than it appears in that picture.

PS. Totally posting hair pictures today, I promise! I haven't been home :/

I think 3, 6, 7 & 8 are your best bets. They're out there and REALLY show your talent with makeup. The others aren't bad by any means, but they're just not "smokin'".

...then again, you saw the pictures I used in my app, and somehow, *I* got in, so you have to already know you're a shoe-in. ;D

I totally feel you, but I felt like I needed to include some of my everyday makeup since I wanted a healthy number of FOTDs and not just all my challenge ones haha :)
